Capturing the heart of your beloved pet
Sue's Fineart specialises in creating bespoke acrylic paintings that bring cherished animals to life on canvas or mountboard.

Capturing Agility and Character
I was commissioned to paint this energetic little boy as a commemorative painting to celebrate his life. As a younger dog, he loved to jump into the local river and have fun. I used mount board so I could size it to go into a specific frame my customer wanted it to be placed into. She absolutely loved the painting and said "Wow, Sue you are so talented. Thank you for capturing Max living his best life, you are amazing".

Boris the Romanian Boxer - Made the Front Page of a Novel
Boris was a rescue dog from Romania and adopted in the UK. His owner wrote a book about the first year of his life, and wanted a painting for the front cover. I was delighted that she loved the painting and had it superimposed onto a background in Romanian flag colours. Dawn was then able to frame the actual painting and hang it proudly on her wall.

A Commemorative Keepsake
Hugo was the beloved companion of a dear friend of mine, Jan, who commissioned me to paint him. She had commissioned me to paint two paintings for other people as special gifts, so was familiar with my work. I felt privileged to be trusted to paint her own special dog. "I love him, my grandson agreed, you have captured him perfectly. Thank you so much". More recently, Hugo passed away, but Jan said that she was comforted due to being able to see her beloved dog's cute little face on her wall. "Thank you so much Sue".

Theresa the three legged Tortoise
This was a commemorative painting of Theresa, who was a 75 years old tortoise who had lived for many years with only three legs after a tragic accident. Patsie provided me with excellent photos of her which enabled me to paint a photorealistic image of her in the garden. When Patsie collected the painting, she was over the moon, and very emotional. She could not stop looking at her and said to me "Thank you so much, you have captured her exactly". She was so sad to loose her beloved tortoise, but so happy to have a perfect image that reminded her of the fun times she had with Theresa in their garden".

Kitten Cat
This was a little kitten that was born in Turkey, but lived in the wild. Sadly its life was a short one. So many cats in Turkey run wild and breed in forests and the undergrowth relying on the kindness of people to feed them and give them shelter. I gifted a copy of this little kitten to our neighbours in Turkey who look after numerous stray cats and kittens in the area.
Tips for your perfect pet portrait
If you're considering commissioning a pet portrait, provide as much information and photographic detail as possible. The more Sue knows about your pet's personality and the more reference images she has, the better painting she can create. Videos are also very useful to Sue, in that they show invaluable insights into a pet's movement and character.
